LTE/5G Remote Antenna Kits

Silicom’s remote MIMO antenna kits improve LTE and 5G data throughput (speed) for difficult site installations.

When the LTE/5G network device is embedded in a building or enclosure with obstructions and no line of sight to the cellular basestation (tower), these kits allow the installer to move the antennas away from the network device to the most optimal location outside of those obstructions.

Two antenna kit types are offered: one kit for LTE and one kit for 5G (with LTE fallback). The IP65 weatherproof housings contain multiple antennas with multiple coax cable connections so that only one antenna kit is needed for each site:

  • LTE kit weatherproof housing contains two internal LTE antennas. The kit includes two low-loss coax extension cables.
  • 5G kit weatherproof housing contains four internal LTE/5G antennas. The kit includes four low-loss coax extension cables.
Remote LTE and 5G Antenna Kits

Hardware included in the kits allows for flexible indoor/outdoor mounting on wall, pole, or window locations. Multiple low-loss coax cable length options are offered to perfectly adapt antenna location to each site.

The antennas are omnidirectional and do not need to be “aimed” at the cellular basestation. However, some sites require colocation with other types of antennas; e.g. on a building roof. A steerable ball mount is included for optional tuning/positioning of the antenna housing relative to other nearby antennas.

5G quad antenna supports both 5G frequencies and LTE frequencies, depending on cellular networks available at the site.

NOTE:

Cellular signal strength affects data throughput (speed). Coax cables have a loss spec defined in dB/meter. The longer the cable, the more loss, the more attenuation to cellular signals, resulting in lower effective data throughput.

To achieve maximum data throughput, select the shortest cable length kit option that fits each site installation.


NOTE:

The total coax cable length for each kit is the 3 m integrated cable plus the extension cable. For example, the 80500-0214-G01 kit total cable length is 3 + 10 = 13 m.
