Silicom’s 100 Gigabit Omni Path PCI Express server adapters are designed for servers and high-end appliances.

Silicom’s 100 Gigabit Omni Path PCI Express server adapter contain a single Wolf River ASIC. Wolf River Intel® Omni-Path Architecture product designed to operate in a host CPU based environment through PCI Express Gen3 interface.

Silicom’s 100 Gigabit Omni Path PCI Express server adapter can have up to two independent Host Fabric Interfaces. Each HFI supports:

  • One PCIe Gen3 x16 interface to the host, each lane supporting 8.0 GT/s data rate per direction and providing up to 16GB/s of host bandwidth in each direction.
  • One Intel® Omni-Path Fabric Gen1 x4 interface, each lane supporting 25 Gb/s data
    rate per direction and providing up to 12.5GB/s of fabric bandwidth in each direction.

Silicom’s 100 Gigabit Omni Path PCI Express server adapter OP I/O ports are implemented in QSFP28 form factor to benefit from a quickly developing copper and optical cabling ecosystem, capable of operating at 25Gbps speeds.

Functional Description

The host CPU sends data through the PCIe bus to the Wolf River, which then sends the data out of the Intel OP HFI interface to the Intel Omni-Path Switch Fabric. At the same time, data can be flowing in the opposite direction.

The PE3100G2QIOP-Qx4 – Server adapter is based on Wolf River ASIC of Intel. The MAC interfaces the PC / Server via its PCI-Express interface with an X16 Lane.
