PXE2TBi - Dual Port Copper Fast Ethernet PCI-X TAP/Normal Server Adapter Intel® based

description key features technical specifications order info

The Silicom PXE2TBI Server Fast Ethernet adapter is a 64-bit/133Mhz PCI-X network interface cards that contain two independent Fast Ethernet ports on one PCI-X adapter.

Silicom's PXE2TBI supports Normal mode, TAP mode and Bypass mode.

In Normal mode, the ports are independent interfaces. In TAP mode, the adapter passively captures both sides of the link and transmits a copy on to the interface. In Bypass mode, all packets received from one port are transmitted to adjacent port.

In Normal mode, the ports are independent interfaces. In TAP mode, the adapter passively captures both sides of the link and transmits a copy on to the interface. In Bypass mode, all packets received from one port are transmitted to adjacent port.

In TAP mode , all packets received from one port are transmitted to its associated interface and to the adjacent port. In TAP mode the adapter captures both sides of the links and transmits a copy on to the interface, this feature enables to monitor all packets received from one port and transmit it to the other port. This feature enables to network analysis / monitoring Ethernet links.

In Bypass mode , the connections of the Ethernet network ports are disconnected from the interfaces and switched over to the other port to create a crossed connection loop - back between the Ethernet ports. Hence, in bypass mode all packets received from one port are transmitted to other port and vice versa. This feature enables to bypass a failed system and provides maximum up time for the network.

Silicom's Ethernet PCI-X TAP / Normal Server adapters includes software programmable Watch Dog Timer (WDT) Controller that detects a host system fails and it will Bypass or TAP automatically the Ethernet ports after programmable time out interval. The WDT can be software programmable enabled or disabled.

Silicom's Ethernet PCI-X TAP / Normal Server adapters are based on the Dual port Ethernet MAC+PHY of Intel Controller .

Silicom's Ethernet PCI-X TAP / Normal Server adapters have an integrated hardware acceleration that performs TCP/UDP/IP checksum offload and TCP segmentation. The host processing offloads accelerators frees CPU for application processing.
